Maarten lives in his oceanfront home, studio, gallery, and sculpture garden overlooking Haro Strait in Victoria BC.

Touchstone Sculptures
The touchstones are fine pieces of art made to be touched and held, these are small smooth and delightfully happy to hold. The touchstones don’t have a base making them better to fondle. Shell Sculptures
The shell sculptures are fabulous elements from the natural world, made from various materials these fine pieces of art have the most incredible finishes and beautiful details. These sculptures are approximately 15-18 CM tall.

Whale Tail Sculptures
The whales tails sculptures are another example of Maarten’s creative vision, sculpting elements of the natural world. The various whale tail sculptures can be any size from small, 20 CM in height to colossal sculptures nearly 3 Meters tall. One of Maarten’s Public Art Installations is a stylized marble whale’s tail at Upper Harbour Place, Tyee Rd. Maarten’s stone sculptures and wood sculptures are breathtaking.



Dolphin Sculptures

Relief Sculptures
Carved paintings or Relief Sculptures are in brilliant colours of gold, bronze, and silver paint. Natural wood pieces are truly unique with organic lines of coloured grain in the wood. The Doorways to Spirit have symbols that are in gold leaf and silver leaf and are a large, colourful, architectural construction of 16 full-size doors hinged together to form a circle, each depicting a different facet of the collective spiritual journey humans take. Maarten has been honoured by People’s Choice Awards and continues to receive local and international attention for the freedom and fluidity his work imparts. His sculptures have been chosen for Sister Cities Suzhou, China, Morioka, Japan and Khabarovsk, Russia.
