2009 NATURE OF ISLAND ARTISTS ART SHOWCome out and experience one of the most beautiful art exhibits you will ever see. The Nature House at Goldstream Provincial Park is completely transformed into a gallery filled with nature inspired art by over 75 local artists such as Mark Hobson, Robert Bateman, Morgan Warren, and many, many others. This year all of the proceeds from the art show will be used to help provide school programs at a reduced cost to schools during the Goldstream salmon run and eagle time of year. The goal of our art show, The Nature of Island Artists, is to increase the public's awareness of the need to protect the natural world. Our protected areas provide clean air, water, habitat for wild plants and animals, places for recreation, education, relaxation and peace. To this end we are showcasing a variety of our Island’s artists who gain their inspiration from the natural environment. Through their work, these artists reveal to us the beauty and mystery of our local landscapes and bring us to a fuller understanding of how protected areas benefit us in many ways. Please help support us in our efforts. Artists will be volunteering on site demonstrating their skills. There is also a scavenger hunt for the kids and be sure to vote for the people’s choice award. WHEN: September 19 to October 12, 2009 - 10 am to 4:30 pm daily |
